The “Settling” Bit
This is the next part of our transition phase. We’ve passed the decision making, packing, selling and closure part (that’s what we did in Australia), now we’re onto the “Settling” stage and YES, we would love to get covered in PRAYER for this part!
Not too sure how long this stage will be, but praise the Lord that He knows! There is comfort in knowing that our Lord NEVER puts us through things that we cannot handle without HIS help and strength! Read the rest of this entry »

Our Little Mission’s Kid!!
Call it bragging, call it being a proud parent or call it “a kick up the rear” for his Mum and Dad. Caleb certainly knows how to teach his Mum and Dad how easy it is to just come out and ask someone if they know Jesus. I love the “no fear of man” that our 6 year old has.
Caleb came home from school seeming quite troubled when I asked him how his day had been. I wish I had have taped my little conversation with him. Read the rest of this entry »

“Still Call Australia Home…”
Some may know Peter Allen’s song… no matter how far or how wide I roam, I still call Australia home. We’ve been in Canada for close to 6 weeks now and I must admit that often…sometimes many times a day, that song makes its way into my head. For Bill it it feels somewhat different. For a large part, Australia is also home to him. Yes, his “roots” are in Calgary, but it it with his wife and 2 children that he also made a home in Australia.

The Eagles Have Landed!!
A 4am wake up, 7 large suitcases, 7 carry on pieces of luggage and a family with many mixed emotions is how we left Townsville, Australia on March 31st, 2009. Right now I am trying real hard to not focus on what we left behind (those memories will be allowed to come out once I am over the jet lag), but on what we have to look forward to. There is plenty…after all, it is with God whom we have made this move.

Here We Go…
“Mummy…there’s only 7 sleeps left and we’re going to go to Canada when it’s dark hey?” That’s right folks, the daily sleep counts have begun and naturally for Bill and I that comes with mixed emotions. Excitement that we are going to finally be in Canada, tears as we leave the place where we fell in love, got married and made a family and home and nervousness as we make this huge transition to the other side of the world!
