Here We Go…

“Mummy…there’s only 7 sleeps left and we’re going to go to Canada when it’s dark hey?” That’s right folks, the daily sleep counts have begun and naturally for Bill and I that comes with mixed emotions. Excitement that we are going to finally be in Canada, tears as we leave the place where we fell in love, got married and made a family and home and nervousness as we make this huge transition to the other side of the world!
The house has been sold, boxes of memories are being packed, suitcases are filling up and fun talks are had about what our life may just be like in Canada. Naturally Caleb and Jessica have moments where they seem to “get” what we are about to do as a family and then they have days where they can’t quite comprehend that we won’t be coming back to this home. Those are the days where my eyes have a hard time staying dry.
Our transitioning as a family has given Bill and I a wonderful opportunity to teach Caleb and Jessica more about the true character of Go
d and how important it is to serve and follow Him, despite the obstacles that can come against us. However, God first had to teach Bill and I and….we are still in His classroom!
Caleb has maturity beyond his years it would seem when it comes to understanding our “God” in our transition as a family. “We just go to Canada until God says something else, hey?” Jessica tells us “God in my heart”. We know God IS doing a special time of preparing them also as we make this move as a family.
So, please keep us close in your prayers. If you were in our home tonight you would have heard the “only 7 more sleeps” echoed from the lips of our 6 year old. We get a smile when we hear Caleb’s countdown…oozing with absolute excitement, but we also get a “oh my gosh, are we really going to get it all done?” Please pray that we WOULD get done what God wants us too…in HIS strength!! We would really appreciate that!!
