… And Then God Created Crystal Creek

crystal-creek-bridgeEver need a gentle reminder of how awesome and incredible God’s hand of creation is? For those of you who have children, you may get a glimpse of that when you look at your children doing something delightful. For others, it may be going to a favourite scenic place where you can sit in awe and witness God’s majestic hand at having created something so beautiful as a waterfall or a sandy beach with pristine blue water at it’s edge.

This past weekend we were able to soak ourselves in God’s wonderful hand of creation as we made the drive to Crystal Creek – about an hour north of Townsville. Okay, being completely honest here…we weren’t able to soak ourselves the entire time. That might have been a bit unrealistic given we had two hot and overly tired children with us who didn’t travel so well in the car for whatever reason.

These past few weeks have been quite a draining journey for us to say the least. We have been in the transition period of entering out of our missions work here at Reef to Outback in Townsville, in order to move into what God has for us in Canada. With that comes the task of trying to sell a house. Not forgetting to mention the packing up process too of a family of 4′s personal belongings…trying to work out what to take with us and what needs to be sold before making the move.

It was a wonderful treat for us to stop for a moment, take a breath and enjoy ourselves as a family in God’s beautiful creation. It wasn’t about packing boxes and sorting through mounds of paperwork for our move, it was about enjoying a special gift God had given us when He created the earth so long ago. It was about realising that it’s okay to stop for a moment, to enjoy one another’s company and realise that if God can make such a beautiful scene as a waterfall flowing down a rocky mountainside, then how much MORE can He get us to Canada and help us with all that’s involved! I love those reality checks, don’t you?
